“Auðvelt” (easy) is pronounced like so:
- The letter cluster “au” always represents the sound [öí], you start with the Ö sound and end with the Í sound.
- The L is not a normal L, but instead a breathy L.
In the word “erfitt” (difficult), the F is pronounced like a V. F is pronounced like a V when it appears in the middle of a (non-compound) word.[a]
