If “sitt hvor” wasn’t such a common phrase, the ‘correct’ way to decline it would be:
sinn hvorsín hvorsitt hvort
sinn hvornsína hvorasitt hvort
sínum hvorumsinni hvorrisínu hvoru
síns hvorssinnar hvorrarsíns hvors
But as you will notice, not a single person actually declenses it like this.
In the mind of a native speaker, “sitt hvor” does not behave like two different words that happen to be said together. Instead, this phrase behaves like a conjoined word, and as you know from words without spaces, only the last part is actually declensed.
